Declaration of Covenants Review- Window Grids, Parking Rules

Wellington Lake takes great pride in keeping the neighborhood homes in tip top shape. Keeping our homes looking great increases the value of the neighborhood! The Design Review Board helps us keep the outside of our homes looking good, by reminding us often to check the covenants to see what must be kept up, and what rules we must follow.
Right now, the DRB wants to remind everyone that it is mandatory to have grids in every window on the front of your house, (unless you have been exempted of this already at one time or another, do to the structure of your home.) Please take a look at your home, then check with the DRB if you have any questions as to whether your window grids need repair/replacing. Parson’s Andrews Lumber, 3625 Peachtree Rd Duluth, GA 30096 (770) 476-5286Fixhome.com is the company to call for window grids. You need Double Hung Grilles Wood Only 7/8" Stock http://www.fixhome.com/page/page/3667728.htm.
Double Hung and Glider window Grille Inserts are custom built to the dimensions you provide and are available in 7/8" wide White Ponderosa Pine stock.

Also, note on page 17 of the covenants, its states that automobiles should not be parked in the street or in the cul de sac, and should be moved every 24 hours if you park in your driveway. Please remember to follow this rule, or you might get a notice that could result in daily fines.

Lost your copy of the covenants? Go to the "Neighborhood Forms" link to the right of this page, and then click on "Declaration of Covenants."

Help us create our "Contractor Wall of Fame & Shame," by sharing your experiences with contractors in our area. If you had an overwhelmingly positive or negative experience with a contractor, please leave a comment to help out your neighbors when selecting a contractor for their next project, (see below for how to leave a comment.)

How do I leave a comment?

When a large number of comments/referrals are posted, we will compile them to a Wall of Fame page to share contractor success stories, and a Wall of Shame page to share poor contractor experiences, and add them as a link to the website for your ease in use and printing.

Keep Wellington Beautiful

At the homeowners meeting, it was discussed that we must all make sure our painting contractors are not cleaning their brushes and trays in the storm drainage system. When you allow them to do so, you are polluting Wellington Lake. Take note next time you have your house painted as to where the painters are cleaning their brushes. Let's keep Wellington Lake, and America beautiful!

New Website and Mailing List

Wellington Lake recently announced the official launch of their new website. The new site allows for much easier updating of content and allows us to seamlessly tie together our email list and our website. It is our goal to have a site with fresh content which encourages participation from the entire neighborhood and keeps everyone up to date on neighborhood activities. We would like to encourage involvement among neighbors to help keep the content of the website fresh.

How To Get On the Google Group Email List
Everyone who has been on the neighborhood email list in the past was automatically added to the new google group email list. If you have other family email addresses you want added, or your email address has changed recently, send a message to admin@wellingtonlake.com and include your name, mailing address, and the email address to be added. Additionally, there is a permanent link to the right which will allow new users to be added to the list.

Google Group Details...
As you probably already know, Google is very diligent when it comes to protecting user's information and that is why we have chosen them to host our email group. You will not receive any spam as a result of being signed up for this group nor is any of your personal information including your email address visible to anyone other than the Wellington Lake Webmaster - currently Susan Philpott.

The primary advantage of the new group is that it is self-managed. If at any time you wish to be removed from the email group, you simply follow the instructions contained at the bottom of any of the emails you receive from the group. This footer also contains information on how to change or add an additional email address to be included in the group. We ask that you provide your name and mailing address so that the webmaster can verify that you are a resident of Wellington Lake before adding you.

If you have something of interest to the neighborhood, just put the Wellington Lake google group email address, (hyperlink- mailto:wellingtonlake@googlegroups.com,) in your TO: address bar of your email, and it will go out to the entire google group email list. If you are unsure as to whether your message is appropriate to send to the neighbors, send it by email to mailto:admin@wellingtonlake.com and the webmaster will review your post for you, and will post it to the website if you need help. If you have any photographs to accompany your story, please send those as an attachment to the email and those can be posted along with your story.

We certainly welcome any feedback to admin@wellingtonlake.com. We ask only that everyone exercise restraint when either sending a message to the mailing list email address or replying to a message such as this one from the mailing list. Keep in mind that your message will go out to the entire neighborhood and if the volume of emails gets too high, we will have to turn off the ability of group members to reply to the group. In general, you should direct any questions or inquiries to admin@wellingtonlake.com.
